The preparation is a new product of Guangzhou Chenliji Pharmaceutical
factory, which is based on the theory of traditional Chinese medicine
and prepared by modern scientific technique. It is an effective
remedy for throat diseases of heat (inflammation) type.

It
is considered in traditional Chinese medicine that all throat diseases
are attributive to fire. Resulting from affection wind-feat or accumulation
of feat in the viscera. The common manifestations are redness,
swelling, pain and suppuration over the throat, accompanied with
fever headache, dysphasia, cough, etc.
Houjiling is clearing away heat, eliminating
toxic material, relieving swelling, dispersing stagnation, easing
the throat and alleviating pain. It
is obviously effectual for cases
of mums, tonsillitis, acute and chronic pharyngitis
with the above manifestations.
The pharmacological studies showed that the capsule exerts a bacteriostatic
effect on Staphylococcus aureus, Hemolytic streptococcus, Pseudomonas
aeruginosa, and Diplococcus pneumoniae in vitro.
Composition:
Artificial Calculus Bovis 15%, Radix Isatidis 20%, Radix Sophorae
Tonkinensis 25%, Radix Trichosanthis 15%, Fructus Chebulae 25%
Functions and indications:
Clearing heat (inflammation) and resolving toxins, dispersing
swelling and alleviate pain. Indicated for mums, tonsillitis,
acute pharyngitis, and acute symptoms of chronic pharyngitis.

Direction: As
